Put simply, QlikView can pull in information from many different sources, including relational databases, flat files and your networks file system. It organises this information and stores it efficiently in memory. Once this has been done end users can interrogate this information in a completely logical fashion. QlikView does this by making connections between different pieces of information. Having the data in memory means that it is quick - very quick.
The information that is being sought can be displayed and exported in various ways, with an extensive array of charting options and direct links to Excel, your clipboard and email.
You might assume that a solution as powerful as this would take a long time to design and build. With any other business intelligence solution you would be right. With QlikView however very little time is required to go from a blank page to a document that can deliver real business benefit.
